If you don't want to accidentally select or edit an object, you can lock the object on the slide and keep it fixed in place.

- Keep selected content consistent throughout all the slides in your Powtoon.
For example: you have created a master slide with text and the company logo. These need to appear on every slide in the same location.

Protect specific content on the slide.
For example: you have created an intricate scene with multiple objects and do not want the scene shifted as you edit other objects on the slide.
Note:
You need to be working in Create mode in order to use the locking feature.
Locking in the Studio
To lock an object:
- Select one or more objects on the stage.
► You can select multiple objects with a selection rectangle or by holding down the Ctrl key and
clicking the desired objects.
In the example below, two characters are selected.
- Click the Lock icon.
► You can also right-click the object (or group of objects) and select Lock from the menu.
The objects are marked as locked and cannot be edited in any way. They also cannot be copied.
To unlock an object:
- Select the locked object or group of locked objects.
- Click the Locked icon.
► You can also right-click the object and click Unlock.
The object is unlocked and can be edited.
Locking from the Timeline
When your scene contains multiple objects and some of them overlap, it may be easier to use the locking feature from the timeline.
To lock an object:
- On the timeline, select the tab of the object that you want to lock.
- Right-click the tab and select Lock from the menu.
The object is marked as locked and cannot be edited in any way. It also cannot be copied.
To unlock an object:
- Hover over the group tab that contains the object that you want to unlock.
► The locked object can be identified by the gray lock that appears on the tab.
- Right-click the tab and click Unlock.
The object is unlocked and can be edited.
Un-Lockable Objects
If you are editing a Powtoon that has been been shared with you, or editing a Company template, you may encounter assets that are unlockable.
These type of locked objects are controlled by the organization administrator of your Business account.
