Adding a Background – Powtoon Business

By default, if you have not chosen a template, the background of a Powtoon slide is blank. Powtoon provides the following options for adding a background to slides:

Uploading a background
Picking a background color
Using a background from your media collection
Using an image for a background
Using a video as a background
Using a ready-made background

The background you add can be applied to an individual slide or to all the slides in your Powtoon.

Uploading a background

Select the slide to which you want to upload a background.

Select the Background tab and then Upload your background.

Use one of the following options:

The background will be added to both the slide and to My Media, your personal media library, ready for future use.

Picking a background color

Use this option to apply a solid color as the background to a slide.

Select the slide to which you want to apply the color.

Select the Background tab and then Pick a background color.

Select a color from the Basic Colors. For additional coloring options, see Changing the color of objects.

Using a background from your media collection

Your media collection - My Media - contains all the media that you have uploaded to Powtoon as well as all the media that you have used in previous Powtoons.

Select the slide to which you want to add a background.

Select the Background tab and then My Media.

Select the image that you want as your slide background.

Using an image for a background

In the Powtoon Studio, make sure that you are working in Create mode.

Navigate to the slide to which you want to add a background.

Select the Media tab.

Use the search bar or browse the following libraries to locate an image:

Scroll through the images. As you scroll, you can hover over the thumbnails to see a larger image.

Select the image that you want for the background, and click on the three horizontal dots

Click on the checkered flag icon () to set as a background

The image, now set as the background, covers the entire slide:

Using a ready-made background

Select the slide to which you want to apply a ready-made background.

Select the Background tab and then browse the libraries (Locations, Color Backgrounds, Abstract Backgrounds, Image Backgrounds) to locate a background that suits your Powtoon best.

Select the desired background.
