Uploading a Video from your Computer

In addition to the videos that are included in the Powtoon libraries, you can also upload a video directly from your computer or social media channel.

As with all videos, an uploaded video becomes the slide background.
 
Important:
In the Powtoon Studio, you need to be working in Create mode in order to upload a video.

Uploading your Video

  1. Navigate to the slide to which you want to upload a video. This will be the slide on which the video begins.
  1. Click on the Upload Media button.

  1. Select Video.

  2. Use one of the following options:
    1. Click Upload to upload a video from your computer.
    2. Click one of the social media icons to upload your video from the relevant channel: Facebook, Instagram, Google Drive.


Important:
1. File type must be MP4
2. If the video is longer then 3 minutes, you will need to trim the video.
 

Trimming your Video

After you upload your video, you have the option to trim it, to get a specific portion. If you don't want to trim your Powtoon, click apply.

To trim your video:
  1. Drag the handles on the video timeline to the desired start and end position.
  2. You can preview the selection, to make sure it fits your needs.
  3. Click Apply to complete the upload process.

Important:
If the duration of the video you are uploading is longer than the slide, you will see an additional pop-up. You will need to choose between two options
1. Extend Length - This will extend the length of the slide to fit the video
2. Trim Video - This will trim the video, to fit the duration of the slide.

After the video has been uploaded, it is also added to My Videos, your personal video library, ready for future use.

Adjusting the Volume of your Video

Only video that has been added to the timeline can have the volume adjusted. The background video can only be muted.
  1. Select the video, and click on the Volume button  volume button.png
  1. Adjust the volume, and select the option to reduce the volume of the main soundtrack automatically, according to your needs.
