Automatically generate mouth animations to sync audio to a mouth animation.
Lip Syncing is a great way to add a touch of realism to your Powtoon, along with adding a fresh and exciting feel to your characters. Lip Syncing will create engagement with your audience, as your animated character will give the impression of directly interacting with the audience.
Lip Syncing is a great way to add a touch of realism to your Powtoon, along with adding a fresh and exciting feel to your characters. Lip Syncing will create engagement with your audience, as your animated character will give the impression of directly interacting with the audience.
Certain Powtoon characters can now be synced with individual audio tracks, giving the impression that that character is speaking in sync with the audio track.
This process is called Lip-Syncing.
Eligible Character Families
All Characters that are created using the Character Builder, plus Boho, Rhapsody, Cosmo, and Duo character families.
Adding a voice-over to a character
- Select a character.
- Click on the Voice icon
- Choose the method you want to use to add the voiceover (the audio will be linked to the character on the timeline):
- The voiceover is now added to the character. It may take a few moments to a few minutes to fully render the mouth motion in sync with the audio.
Additional audio customization for character with lip-sync
Once you have added an audio track to a character, you have some additional customization options to work with.
- Select a character, and click on the Voice icon
- The Audio Control will open and you will be able to make some minor changes:
- Swap the audio track.
- Delete the audio track.
- Volume control.
- Preview the audio track.
Identifying a character with an attached audio track
Once you have added an audio track to a character, you will have some convenient visual reminders to let you know which character has lip-synced to an audio track, and which ones have not.
- The Sound icon will appear blue.
- The duration of the attached audio file will appear on the timeline when selecting the character.
- A microphone icon will appear on the character thumbnail below the timeline.
