Powtoon Capture—FAQ

Powtoon Capture, a new component of Powtoon's Visual Communication Platform, enables you to quickly and easily record your screen, face, or both.
You use Powtoon Capture with a Chrome extension that you install in your browser.

Yes. Each Organization Admin can contact enterprisesupport@powtoon.com to disable access to Powtoon Capture.

You can record for up to 70 minutes.

You have 3 options: SD (480p), HD (720p), and Full HD (1080p).

With your mouse, drag the control menu to a different part of the screen where it won't cover the content you want to record.

Your recording is processed and then automatically played in the Powtoon player page. In addition, the recording URL is copied to your clipboard and can be shared immediately with others.

 

You'll find them all in your Toolbox (in My Powtoons) after you filter by Capture.

Yes. Click the three dots on the Capture thumbnail and then use the Rename option.

 

Yes, if your capture is 3 minutes or shorter, you will be able to open it in the Studio, just like a regular Powtoon.

If your capture is longer than 3 minutes, you can view the Capture, share its link with others, and download the recording to an MP4 file (according to subscription plan).

Captures are saved in your Workspace for 3 months from the date of the recording, after which they are deleted automatically. You can see the exact expiration date by hovering over the i on the Capture thumbnail.

When using the Present mode, no part of your screen will be recorded. 

Absolutely! You can present yourself using the present mode in any browser where the Extension has been installed.
