When working on a Powtoon, you have the option to designate an individual object (or a group of objects), as a Master Object. Once you have designated an object as a Master Object, it will appear on every slide, and in the same location, from the first slide, until the last slide.
Master Objects are a great solution for objects that need to appear across multiple slides, like your Logo, or a Call to Action.
In the example below, we will be setting a Call to Action as a Master Object.

Setting up a Master Object
- Select the object (or grouped objects) you want to designate as a Master Object. In this example, we will be using a Call to Action that is made up of 3 separate objects.
- Select the group of objects, and right-click.
- Select Set as Master Object.
- The individual objects are now locked in place, and removed from the timeline.
The Master Object will now appear on all your slides, and will be automatically added to any new slide you create in the Powtoon.
Moving a Master Object
After you have set up a Master Object, it will be locked in place. You will need to unlock it object(s), in order to move around the screen.
- Unlock the Master Object by hovering your mouse above the object, and click on the lock-pad. If your Master Object contains more then one object, you'll need to unlock them all.
- Move the Master Object to the new location
- Lock the objects, to avoid any unwanted Edits.
Detaching a Master Object
Detaching a master object will allow you to keep the original object on a slide. You can move it around or delete it, without effecting a copy of the object on any other slide.
1. Right click on the desired Master Object and select Detach from Master Object.
Deleting a Master Object
The situation may arise, where you want to remove a Master Object from a specific slide, but you still want all the other slides to include the Master Object.
Deleting a Master Object from one slide
- Unlock the Master Object by hovering your mouse above the object, and then clicking on the lock-pad. If your Master Object contains more then one object, you will need to unlock all the individual objects.
- Delete the object by using the Delete button on your keyboard.
At this point, you will be prompted to select the option to delete the Master Object from a specific slide, or delete it from the entire Powtoon.
