What is in a Script?
Each script includes 3 main sections.
- The Voice-Over
- On-Screen Text
- Slide Description
The Voice Over is the suggested spoken text, and will be the driving force of your message. Not every slide will have on-screen text. These bits of text are suggestions to help visualize important aspects of the script.
Finally, there is the Slide Description. This is will give you a detailed description of what you should add to your slide, to match the feeling and tone of your of your script.
Getting your Script
- Click on the Create with AI button.
- Click Let's write.
- Choose the type of script you want from the drop-down menu.
- Input what you want the story to be about. Check out the article Improving your Prompts to learn how to get better results.
- Choose the tone of voice for the text from the drop-down menu.
- Click Generate Script.
- The Script will begin to generate.
- Once the Script is complete, you will have two options
- Regenerate Script - If you don't like the script, you can make changes to the prompts that generated your script, and get a new one.
- Use in Studio - Transfer your script into a Powtoon.
Working with your Script in the Studio
After you have selected Use in Studio, a new blank Powtoon is created with your script.
On the Left side of the Powtoon Studio, you'll notice that the slide thumbnail layout has been replaced with your script. Just click on the Script button to switch between the two views -
Voice Over
In the voice-over section, you can click on the Text to Speech button ( ) to generate a voice-over, or click on the Copy button ( ) to copy the text.
On Screen Text
Use the suggested on screen text to visually enhance your message. Different types of on screen text are titles, and additional text.
Slide Description
In this section, you'll be provided with with detailed instructions on how each slide should look, including font size, location, as well as suggestions for images, videos and graphics.
